The Study Center Trips for 2008:

Life of Jesus Israel Trip
May 5-15, 2008

Following the Life and Ministry of Jesus in the Holy Land, this trip will allow us to get really close to the Origin of Christianity.

This trip includes flights, hotels, breakfast and dinner, tips and all entrance fees.

Galilee Area: Nazareth, Nazareth Village, Sepphoris, Jordan River, the Capernaum Synagogue, Church of the Multiplication, Bethsaida, Chorazin, Church of Beatitudes, Sea of Galilee boat ride, the Golan heights, view of Syria and Lebanon, Caesarea-Phillipi, Tel Dan, Megiddo, Mt. Carmel and Caesarea by the Sea.

Jerusalem Area: Bethlehem, Mt. of Olives, Dominus Flevit, Garden of Gethsemane, Old City Jewish Quarter, Western Wall, view of the Mosques, Peter in Galicantu, Mt. Zion, church of the Dormition, Upper Room, Bethesda Pools, Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulcher and the Garden Tomb.

Life and World of Jesus: Israel and West Bank Trip
May 10-24, 2008

Topics for this trip include: The Matriarchs and Patriarchs of Exodus; the Shephelah and the Philistine Plain; Romans, tax collectors, Zealots; the sites of Jesus' early ministry; Jesus' ministry around the Sea of Galilee; Jesus' withdrawal from Galilee; Megiddo; Mt. Carmel; Caesarea; Jesus' birthplace; Mt. of Olives; Jesus' teaching in Jerusalem; the last supper; Jesus' Jewish trials, Roman trial, and crucifixion; Jerusalem museums; City of David; and Hezekiah's Tunnel.

The Seven Churches of the Revelation, with Cruise
October 5-18, 2008

Photo from 7 Churches TripThis trip is a great opportunity to learn more about the stories in the book of Revelation from the Bible. Come along and let's compare archaeological facts that show us the daily life, the hopes and fears of the people , and explore the meaning of Revelation and Ephesians.

Sites visited: Istanbul, a city of minarets and markets, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, St. Sophia; Troy; Pergamum; Aesclepium; Thyatira; Philadelphia; Sardis; Pamukkale; Laodicea; Colossae; Hieropolis; Kusadasi; and Ephesus, with the library and 24,000 seat theater.

On our cruise of the Greek islands, we will visit Patmos; the island Rhodes, with the cities of Rhodes and Lindos; the island of Crete, with the sites of Heraklion and Knossos; Santorini; Piraeus; and the Acropolis and Museum in Athens.

Malta, Sicily and Italy
October 18-31, 2008

Photo from Malta, Sicily, Italy TripCome travel the important places of the last days in St. Paul's life. We begin with Paul in Malta at the probable site of the shipwreck. Next, we will visit the Greco/Roman towns of Sicily where Paul preached and taught. We will continue to Rome where he lived under house arrest and died at the hands of Nero the Roman Emperor.

Dr. Jim Fleming and Hannaniah Oliver Pinto will lecture; guides will explain the sites and we all will have a better appreciation of St. Paul's life, ministry, and contribution to the Church.

Sites are: the island of Malta, Valletta, St. Paul's Bay, Rabat, Mdina; Gozo Island with its Gigantja Temples; the island of Sicily, with its cities Syracuse, Taormina, Messina, and its active volcano, Mt. Etna; Italy with its Paestum Temples, Amalfi Coast, island of Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Rome, including the Roman Forum, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Vatican.
